John Ford

The Boss
Founder, Trainer/Tester & NVQ Assessor

I have over 30 years of industry experience. After leaving school at 15, I started my working life as an apprentice for Bamford Farm Machinery of Uttoxeter. I went on to complete my apprenticeship and worked in construction, plant and agriculture for many years. In 1993, I formed my own accredited training company, JF Services Training Centre, and then gained NVQ accreditation in 2002. My son started working for the company in 2017 and will be taking over the reins when I’m ready to retire.

Mark Ford

Second in Command
CITB Accredited Tester

26 years ago, I began working for a global manufacturing company at one of their UK factories. I gained an NVQ Engineering Qualification in 2005 whilst there. In 2017, I started to work FOC with my dad on my days off, taking the time to learn the industry and the business. I was medically retired from work due to a workplace accident in 2022 and have been lucky enough to retrain as a NOCN/CPCS Tester and sign on as additional tester at JF Services. I am currently working towards adding more categories to my testers’ card and look forward to meeting you all and making new connections within the industry.

Chris Ford

The Real Boss
Centre Coordinator & Internal Verifier for Plant Operations

I have been married to John for many happy years. We have raised children, cats, and dogs together, all while supporting John in his career and running our busy Training Centre! With extensive knowledge and experience in the industry, I can help with all enquiries you have regarding our entire range of services.

Rachel Ford

Chief Tea Maker
Administrator to Mark

I’ve been married to Mark for almost 25 years and carry out most of his day-to-day paperwork, organizing and planning – both for the business and at home! I have worked for over 15 years in the construction industry both as a PA, senior administrator & health & safety administrator for various companies over different sectors of construction. I also have over 5 years Health & Safety administration experience, making my skills transferable to this new to me industry.

Charlotte Ford

The General Dogsbody
Document Controller

As the youngest member of the company, my role is perhaps the most ill-defined! Because of my varied experience, I provide many small services to the company in addition to my main role, such as writing our website text, providing and editing photos, and wrangling our company dogs, Amber and Bueller. I’m 23 and for over 8 years I’ve been a freelance artist, writer and a qualified EQF level 5 photographer and photo editor, (yes, since I was 15!). In 2022 I graduated with a Philosophy degree from the University of Lincoln, where I worked as a part-time student representative while studying. I’m talented when it comes to writing, editing, and IT tasks, with excellent customer service skills.

The Dogs

The Terrierist:
Bueller - Border Jack Terrier - 2 years old

The Cutiepie:
Amba - Cockerpoo - you never ask a lady her age!

John and Mark often bring their dogs Amba and Bueller to work with them, unless requested.
Otherwise, candidates find their presence enjoyable and unobtrusive to their work. Amber can often be found chilling out, watching the world go by, while Bueller is usually doing Zoomies and jumping around, especially onto knees!

Please remember not to feed the dogs without permission – if every candidate did this, our dogs would be unhealthy and too lazy to work!
